A Voice from the Congo With Toto Kisaku
Toto Kisaku is a Congolese actor, playwright, director of K-Mu Theatre, and recipient of the 2010 international Freedom to Create Prize for K-Mu’s production of Basal’ya Bazoba about the violent persecution of children accused of witchcraft. He will share the story of his life in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, his socially conscious theatre work, and the cost of freedom.
Freedom Vote 2016 is a project of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury as a participant in VERA (Voter Education, Registration, & Action), a non-partisan effort to educate adult learners about voting and current election issues and mobilize them to vote in 2016 elections.
